AGCSA CONFERENCE -- BAYER PLASMA TV 'LUCKY DRAW' WINNER IS ADAM ROBERTSON!
Bayer Environmental Science was a proud sponsor of the AGCSA’s 26th Australian Turfgrass Conference & Exhibition on the Gold Coast, Queensland, in June.
The Conference & Trade Exhibition were highly successful and attended by approximately 500 delegates over the two-days. Bayer Environmental Science sponsored the Welcome Reception at DreamWorld which was very popular amongst delegates and proved to be a lot of fun! Rides such as the Cyclone Rollercoaster, the V8 Racing Cars and the Wave Rider were all very popular amongst guests.
Bayer Environmental Science had a Stand at the 2-day Trade Exhibition, held at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre. Visitors to the Stand were eligible to enter a ‘lucky draw’ competition to win a 42” High Definition Plasma TV. Hundreds of entries were received and Melissa Wallace, Business Relationship Manager with the AGCSA, (pictured below) was called upon to draw the prize winner’s name at the Stand at 11am on Thursday (June 24th).
The prize winner was Adam Robertson who is the Course Superintendent at The Kew Golf Club, East Kew, Victoria.
Adam said “I have attended many AGCSA Conferences and have always found them to be very worthwhile. This year’s Conference in particular, was very interesting and informative. I find hearing about other Golf Course Superintendent’s experiences and listening to different perspectives of real benefit to me”.
“The forum on ‘Green Speed” in relation to meeting golfer expectations was very interesting and informative and hearing the US and European perspectives was very helpful. Our Club Members are keenly interested in our Green Speed and my job is to try and meet their expectations continually”, he said.

“I have worked at the Kew Golf Club for 14 ½ years, 13 years of which I have been the Course Superintendent”. We use many Bayer fungicide products in rotation as part of our maintenance program. Merit is excellent on African Black Beetle larvae, while Spearhead gives us great results on broadleaf weeds.
“As a Course Superintendent it is of paramount importance to be able to trust who you are dealing with in terms of product you use on the Course, and it is satisfying to know that with Bayer you have a trustworthy and reliable product and that the Company is there to support you”, Adam said.
"I was thrilled to hear I had won the ‘Lucky Draw’ at the Bayer Environmental Science Stand at the AGCSA Conference. My kids think all their Christmas’s have come at once!” he said.
Adam is pictured below being congratulated by Nadine Hope, Regional Sales Manager (Vic/SA) for Bayer Environmental Science.
